Bill was our dockmate at Smith Mountain Lake & Virginia Inland Sailing Assoc. A kind & gentle soul & accomplished sailor, he will be greatly missed by all of us there. Until not needed, I promise, his pride & joy - SAGA - will be looked after & cared for in his memory. My prayers are with Bill, his family & friends.

Truly our expressions of sympathy go to you. We loved Bill and loved his smile. We would like to organize a memorial gift of a bench or bike rack.
Bill was the only person I know who actually wore out 4 bicycles riding the Greenbrier River Trail. I remember the day he successfully rode his bicycle up the hill at Crowfields with his “new found friend”, his heart rate monitor. He called me joyously. Bill was part of the “founding fathers” of our local cycling group. He was truly an inspiration---so many health roadblocks, but so much determination to stay healthy and fit. His smile welcomed many folks to spinning classes over the years. He once told me that he had never laughed so much as during the group bicycle trip to South Carolina.
We will miss his smile, his encouragement, his positive attitude.
We are thinking and praying for your family.
