Michael Shannon Bennett, Sr.
Sept. 8, 1952 - Jul. 28, 2012
Born September 8, 1952, in Richwood, he was a son of the late Charles Burton and Olivene Marion Bennett.
Michael previously worked as a loader operator at an asphalt plant and as a coal miner. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David (Pickett) Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Groves Bennett of Mt. Nebo; two daughters, Karen Kincaid, Midway and Tonia Allen of China Grove, NC; two sons, Michael Shannon Bennett Jr of Salisbury, NC and Jeremy Curtis Bennett of Ansted; a sister, Pamela Jean Smith of Victor; four brothers, Keith Bennett and wife Cindy of Hico, Floyd Bennett and wife Barbara of Victor, Doug Bennett and wife Pat of Victor and Billy Bennett of Victor; and ten grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Buckhorn United Methodist Church with Pastor Rodney Nutter officiating. Burial will follow in the Groves Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
